Epson Stylus 440 bad paper feed
The Epson Stylus Color 440, like all printing units out there, will experience problems from time to time. Sometimes it will be because cartridges need to be replaced, while other problems may be quite difficult to solve. For instructions on how to clean the inkjet print heads on this particular model, go ahead and read Ehow. This link will provide an easy to understand video that will have you cleaning your ink cartridges in no time at all.
Another problem people experience a lot, though, is that the printer doesn’t feed paper. To fix this, follow these simple instructions.
First, turn your printer on and then hit the Load/Eject button. If paper loads, you are good to go, but if it doesn’t there is another issue at hand. Check the paper and make sure there is nothing wrong with it. If it is curled or creased, you may want to replace it. Also, if it’s really old, you may want to replace it. If the paper is loaded above the left edge guide or is jammed, you need to fix this as well.
If the light is solid on the unit, that indicates that the paper is out—reload the paper. Then you need to hit the “Load/Eject” button again.
If the light is flashing, you need to turn the printer off and then unload the paper. Reload the paper and then turn the printer back on. After this, hit the “Load/Eject” button.
If neither of these things work, you need to turn your printer off and remove the cable from the machine. Let it sit for a few minutes then try these steps again.
After you’ve done all if this, if your machine still won’t load paper, that means there is probably an internal issue that will need to be resolved so you will need to call your manufacturer.
